Editor's review

This tool determines if some signature, any signature, exists in the prescribed area of a document.

Signature Checker is an audit tool designed to quickly look at an area of a scanned document to find if there is any image data available in that specified area. This is not a signature-matching software. it simply looks at the given area and determines if it contains black pixels above a threshold. This is to make sure random noise will not trigger a false positive. It does this by looking at the percentage of black and white pixels. It only looks to see if something exists in a specified area of a file. This is a batch processor program and processes a batch of single page tiff image files. You could have it set up to handle more than one job. A job will mean a batch to which same settings apply. When that is done the tool will then switch to the next settings and process another set of images.

Once processed the files are placed into two output folders. One could be a folder that has passed the test, the second one would be for failed cases; one for passed (has more than a certain amount of black pixels) and one for failed. Similarly up to three logs can be chosen; one for passed, failed and complete details. All input files need to be in G4, black & white TIFF format only. The copiers that are compatible include Canon, Ricoh, Xerox, Sharp, HP, Oce, and others. Compatible stand alone scanners are Kodak, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Canon, Ricoh and others. This is a very good product and is a good option when you have a need for a tool like this. Go ahead and try it out in your exact work settings.

Publisher's description

Signature Checker is an audit tool designed to quickly look at an area of a scanned document and determine if it contains any data. It does this by looking at the percentage of black and white pixels. It does not compare and validate a signature; it only looks to see if something exists in a specified area of a file.
The program has been designed to process batch process single page tiff image files. It can be set to process more than one job, with a job being a set of instructions (settings). So a file could be processed to look for a signature, then processed again to look at an area for initials etc.
If the documents have already been scanned and saved as PDFs or PDF output is desired please contact us.
